Hi florists, this is an update to tell you that we are GOOD TO GO this week, so you can continue to order!

Lots of dahlias, cut fresh throughout the week for event & retail use (particularly white and peach/copper/orange fall tones; burgundy likely sold out)

Lots of zinnias, all colours

Lots of white cosmos

Lots of burgundy amaranth

Lots of beige/blush lisianthus
I will confirm all this week's orders by end of day Monday.
The Story:
We did get frost, along with Emily K (Belwood Lake Blooms) and Emily H (Mapleton Acres), but we were all able to save most of our flowers by watering through the night with a combination of sprinkler systems and walking around with headlamps & hoses. Special shout-out to Mapleton Acres for doing this for their entire acre of dahlias & zinnias, not just once but THREE nights in the last week.
I had this in my head the whole time, if you ever read Little House on the Prairie as a kid:
"Almanzo tried to hurry, but his wet fingers were cold, the water slopped against his legs and he was terribly sleepy. He stumbled along the rows, and at every hill of corn he poured a little water over the frozen leaves. The field seemed enormous... In an instant the earth turned from black to gray. The sun was coming to kill the corn. 'Keep on!' Father shouted.... All at once pale sunshine came over the field. ... But most of the corn was saved."
I have a love/hate relationship with bulky garden hoses. This week was solidly in the "love" category. Those beautiful post-frost sunrises were another bonus.
So yes, please go ahead & order for pick-up this week! 😃
Next Week (post Thanksgiving):
Same story: we'll keep going until we can't. I will likely have scabiosa, various perennials, a lot of gorgeous white airy artemesia that’s just about to pop open, more japanenes anemones & fall foliage, etc. Emily might be able to save her dahlias for yet another week. Let me know if you're hoping for anything and I'll put you at the top of the list.

Note that later orders may be subject to less availability even if something appears in stock, because inventory changes so rapidly. However, I cut throughout the week so you can also message me anytime to check if we have more.

For most products, you'll be prompted to select either Bunch Size or "Add if Available" (if sold out). We prefer to be conservative and are often able to fill additional stems once we actually harvest. I will message you prior to pickup if we can fulfill extras for you.

Pick-up is flexible: anytime after Tuesday 12:00 noon. (I appreciate a text with your ETA, or I can leave it in the cooler for self pick-up.)

Please bring buckets to swap, but don't worry if you forget. We run on the honour system and you can drop off more next time.
