Peony Project 2025 Content Kit
Hello, flower farmers & florists! Here are the steps to participate:

Decide what you want to give away:

A large peony bouquet to a single winner (suggested)
*Or other flowers, if your peony season is wrapping up

Or you could do a draw for a gift card to a place where your flowers can be purchased (If you wholesale)

Or you could donate a percentage of weekend sales / stems sold? (i.e. you donate yourself from your own business, rather than do a giveaway)

Find your local food bank from the list on the fundraising page (click Donate Now and then find “Area to Support”

Post to social media or email. Feel free to use the images and suggested wording below, or write your own. If you are doing a draw, include:

the timing of your giveaway (before June 30)

your preferred food bank for people to donate

the donation link in your profile: https://foodbankscanada.akaraisin.com/ui/PeonyProject

any instructions/restrictions to enter. (For my own, I am asking them to simply comment “I donated!” on the social media post, and I’ll draw a name from there. I am also offering delivery to my local area, but you could require pick-up only.)

There really is no wrong way to do this! Please message me if you have questions, but feel free to make it your own! The goal is simply to raise money and build some momentum for next year.
Some Wording Options
Example 1:
What if flowers could feed families?
This week, they can.
We’re teaming up with our local food bank to turn beauty into generosity. Make a donation and you’ll be entered to win the biggest bouquet of peonies we’ve ever given away — think [bouquet size] of lush, fragrant blooms.
👉 Donate using the link in profile, and choose [your local food bank]. Then, comment on this post and say “I donated” to enter! The winner will be drawn on ___. [Add delivery/pick up info or any other specific details]
Example 2:
💐 Win a giant bouquet of peonies — and help us feed families, too.
Along with flower farmers across Canada, we’re giving away a stunning armful of peonies to [number of winners] lucky flower lovers! To enter, donate any amount to our local food bank through the link in bio (choose [your food bank here]) and comment “donated!” on this post.
Thank you for helping us give back to our community in a tangible way!
Example 3:

This weekend, $[__] from every peony bunch you buy will go directly to [our local food bank].
Flowers are essential to well-being, yet they're out of reach for many people. One in ten Canadians are using food banks for themselves and their families, including our own friends, colleagues and neighbours who you'd never suspect are quietly struggling to put food on their table—let alone flowers—right now.
Even though we don’t grow food, we can still help feed families! Thanks for supporting us and giving back to our community at the same time.
